Poor Lolo had to go to Urgent Care over the weekend because she had a hair tourniquet on her toe. A hair tourniquet occurs when a hair wraps tightly around a finger or a toe and cuts off circulation. The digit then begins to swell and get very red. It can cause permanent disfiguration or, in extreme cases, a digit to fall off. I’ve read about them, but never seen one or had to remove one. Most babies are really fussy when they have one, but Lolo didn’t seem to be bothered at all. Brett and I tried to get it off at home, but weren’t sure if we succeeded as her toe was still red and swollen. So we took her into my clinic, where she got the royal treatment from my colleagues. After examination, it was evident that we had already removed the hair. By the next day, her toe was looking a little better and within four days it was back to normal. Brett and I were relieved and hope not to return to Urgent Care any time soon!
Oh my gosh, even laid out in the Urgent Care, she is still the cutest little thing ever!!! Glad she is okay! ❤
