On my due date I decided it would be a good day to can peach jam. Brett was less sure, but let me go ahead anyway. He even helped me clean up the very messy kitchen at the end. I made 8 pints (4 pints and 8 half pints); It was a lot more jam than a realized and a little (ok a lot) bigger project than anticipated. I was exhausted afterward, but thrilled to get it done. I started having contractions as I was finishing up. They lasted about 8 hrs and were getting pretty intense and close together. Just as we were finishing packing for the hospital, they stopped. If canning jam all day is not enough to put me into labor. I don’t know what will.
Peach Jam40 weeks and canning up a stormThe salsa verde I canned last weekend.
Ha! You sound like me. I was 4 days overdue with Gwyneth and thought, screw it. I spent 8 hours landscaping the yard and hauling 50lb bags of soil around. I didn’t think anything would send me it labor. Well….that actually DID send me into labor, but I was sure it wouldn’t. I spent the next 36 hours in labor and was absolutely exhausted. Yard looked great, though 😉 Kick your feet up and rest now, mama! You’ve earned it.
Hahaha yummy!!! Brett will be glad u did it since u will not have time to can when the baby arrives
