Gardening with Lolo

The garden is in full swing now. I wasn’t sure how gardening and a one year old would mix, but so far so good. We have already enjoyed blueberries, strawberries and raspberries, all of which Lolo loved!  Our corn is about six feet high now and the tomatoes are really starting to produce. Lolo loves to come out into the garden and “help” me pick green beans and cherry tomatoes. Helping usually consists of her holding the colander and dropping it repeatedly saying “uh oh”. Then as I put beans or tomatoes in it she picks them up takes a bite out of two or three, and then spits them out. Then as I’m putting more produce in, she rapidly starts throwing it all out of the colander onto the ground. She seems to be faster at throwing than I am at picking. So there are a few new challenges this year. But it has been so much fun to share the garden with Lolo.

  1. So fun! Get them started early! Gardening is a family tradition in our house, too. (it’s a British thing!)
