Welcome Baby Bennett

It is our greatest pleasure and joy to welcome a son, Bennett Joseph Hesterberg, into our family.  Bennett was born on January 23rd at 9:40pm PT. He weighs 6lbs 2oz and is 19.25 inches long.

We were scheduled for induction on January 22nd, but the hospital was too full, possibly from the aftermath of the total lunar eclipse and full moon on Jan 20th-21st (doctors are unusually superstitious). We finally got the call to come in at 6am on January 23rd. Labor lasted only 10 hours (much better compared to Lauren’s 24 hours). Plus, I was able to eat as I didn’t have an epidural for a while. The tacos from Los JamayTecos taco truck across the street from the hospital made it all seem easier.  Labor progressed quickly from 6 to 10 cm in only 20 minutes, and after less than 5 minutes of pushing, Bennett was in our arms. My OB friend, Jordan, came in as a special favor to deliver Bennett. She delivered Lauren as well.

Lauren visited the next morning. She was so excited to meet Bennett and wanted to hold him immediately. Even after she came home there have been no issues with jealousy, at least yet.

My parents are staying with us to help, and we could not do this without them.  They have been taking amazing care of all four of us.

  1. Such a beautiful family! Congratulations. We can’t wait to meet him. We just had our TDAPs recently (Fall 2018).
    Much Love, Danielle & Ryan
